Maya – the language of beauty

08th october 2016 – 05th march 2017

Gran Guardia palast in Verona houses Maya – the language of beauty, a one of a kind exhibition where visitors can find 300 pieces about how the Mayan artists created sculptures celebrating the human body and their relationship with animals and gods. Sculptures and ceramic also reveal the Mayan concepts of beauty and daily life. Another section of the Mayan exhibition explores the importance of clothing in indicating social status, and features jewellery such as necklaces and ear plugs in jade and chrysoprase.
